AAUW Torrance Branch Chartered in 1968
Founded in 1968 by 62 passionate women, AAUW Torrance has been a driving force in community empowerment from the very start. Over the years, our branch has actively partnered with diverse organizations, contributing to sectors such as education, library services, public service, the creation of the Madrona Marsh, and local history projects—all while helping to expand the innovative Tech Trek program under AAUW-CA.
As part of a nationwide network that steadfastly values education, lifelong learning, and equal opportunities both in academic settings and the workplace, our members are dedicated to forging a brighter future for all women and girls. Our collective voice is both powerful and undeniable.
In celebration of our 50th Anniversary in 2018, Torrance branch members honored this milestone by donating 25 new books to the Torrance Public Library. These books, focusing on themes of women’s empowerment, education, and the potential for success, symbolize our ongoing commitment to uplifting our community.
