Women’s Transborder Cinema: Creative Agency Across South Asia

Esha Niyogi De, PhD
Esha teaches in the Faculty of Humanities at UCLA and is Affiliate of the UCLA Center for India and South Asia. Her research focuses on South Asian women, film history, and literary history. She is the author of, among other publications, Women’s Transborder Cinema (University of Illinois Press, 2024) and Empire, Media, and the Autonomous Woman: A Feminist Critique of Postcolonial Thought (Oxford University Press, 2011).
